Featuring work from Bon Appétit. TOGETHER is the sixth installment of the series representing the artist’s nostalgia for family gatherings. The image is composed of hands preparing ingredients juxtaposed to people eating what is reminiscent of arroz con gandules in the foreground. Depictions of common Latinx ingredients sit centered in the background, a nod to the brands and seasonings that define the artist’s culture and upbringing. This piece comes during a time of apparent relief, yet apprehension during the COVID-19 pandemic.
